Technical Solution Manager (Energy Storage)
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design & Optimization
• Lead the design of energy storage solutions across grid-side, generation-side (renewable + storage), and standalone/shared energy storage power stations
• Independently Develop integrated system solutions covering PCS, EMS, BMS, and substation systems with deep knowledge on different and general venders of DC and AC side on the market .
• Analyze grid dispatch requirements and technical challenges in renewable grid integration and be proficient in energy storage project grid interconnection process; able to formulate AC-side product strategies complying with grid code requirements
2. Tendering & Bidding Support
• Take the lead in utility-scale energy storage project tenders as the soulution responsible and be Familiar with the bidding process, capable of independently preparing technical proposals and responding to clarifications.
• Prepare technical proposals, including equipment selection, system topology design, and technical deviation analysis
- Technical Lead at Contracting stage
• Support sales teams in cost estimation and pricing strategy at project level and interface with the customer to help project compliance at technical side.
• Act as technical lead to prepare, clarify, negotiate and finalize annexes of technical and performance warranty agreements under contracts.
4. Full Lifecycle Technical Management
• Support project execution from design through construction and delivery as the technical interface with customer side.
• Resolve technical issues related to electrical interfaces, communication protocols, and grid integration
• Provide technical support during operation & maintenance phases on technical related issuses from the customer requriements side.
5. Policy & Market Insights
• Track regional energy storage policies (capacity compensation, spot market rules, grid interconnection requirements, etc.)
• Analyze market dynamics and regional characteristics based on political & economical environmental conditions of different countries.
• Contribute to white papers and technical roadmap reports for grid-side energy storage and train the developers, grid-operators and relative parties
6. Competitive Analysis
• Benchmark leading competitors (e.g., Huawei, Sungrow, HyperStrong, CATL, Hithitum)
• Conduct SWOT analysis and provide strategic insights for diferent competitors and Formulate product competitive strategies on a project-specific basis.
• Trace the product evolution in areas such as sodium-ion battery technologies, high-voltage cascade systems flow cell technologies and etc.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in the energy storage industry, experience from BESS OEM side is preferred.
• Proven experience as the technical lead of supporting utility-scale (100MWh+) energy storage projects is preferred.
Technical Expertise
• Strong knowledge of primary and secondary electrical design for energy storage systems and whole BESS station till 115kV HV level.
• Familiarity with protection systems, grid compliance testing, and SCADA/communication protocols
• Experience with power system analysis; proficiency in simulation tools such as PSCAD or ETAP is a plus
Soft Skills
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and capable of cross-functional communication and providing end-to-end vertical support for project management.
• Ability to represent the company in technical comunications with grid operators, EPCs, clients and relative parties in the BESS industry of the countriy.
Documentation Skills
• Excellent technical writing and orgnaization skills with the ability to produce structured, high-quality proposals, reports and bidding documents.
