Engineer 1, Test

This role is responsible for applying entry-level knowledge of engineering principles and practices in engineering to support Sustaining, Continuity of Supply, and Productivity designs that have limited complexity. This role will be heavily involved in developing test procedures, test strategies and will have some involvement in applying basic reliability principles to create reliability tests in collaboration with other Team Members

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing test plans on hardware of Chamberlain products.
  • Estimating test effort, analyzing, and communicating test results, tracking defects.
  • Participates as a key core team member on continuity of supply, productivity and sustaining projects, attends design reviews, and day-to-day Agile scrum activities
  • Works with regulatory engineers to set-up and conduct test plans for UL agency-type testing.
  • Prepares and reviews test reports for projects and assists other TEs with their projects.
  • Evaluates the results of EMC testing of RF emissions, RF sensitivity, radiated and conducted immunity, and RF electrical safety evaluation.
  • Participate in defect analysis, root cause analysis, study product functionality impact, and provide key insight of observed product performance and defects.
  • Works with Manager to establish new test procedures, testing methodologies, and provides input for custom test fixture design and automation projects.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.


Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience:

Relevant work experience as defined in the Essential Duties & Responsibilities, or software engineering internship (~0.5 years)

Other:

· Able to travel up to 10% - domestically and internationally
