Staff Accountant
The primary function of this role will be to assist with the daily tasks related to finance. As a staff accountant you will be responsible for month end close and account reconciliations, this includes importing/exporting of data from databases to our accounting software including Great Plains. This individual will work closely with other accounting team members to set process and procedures. Our ideal candidate will possess attention to detail along with accuracy, the ability to work alongside a multitude of personalities in a team-based environment, and a forward-thinking personality that will allow our ideal candidate to identify process improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Complete financial account reconciliations
- Complete bank account reconciliations
- Prepare period-end accruals
- Prepare imports and exports from various data bases
- Ensure that information is uploaded into accounting software
- Ensure that all information imported is accurate and factual
- Usage of Great Plains software
- Assist in month end close
- Ensure that all processes and procedures are being followed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of GAAP is preferred
- Understanding of Income Statement and Balance Sheet
- Must have at least one year of accounting experience
- Ability to implement process improvement strategies
- Forward thinking
- Must be efficient, detail oriented and a quick learner
- Must be able to multitask
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
