You should have technical leadership experience and a background in software engineering.
Your responsibilities include leading, challenging, and developing engineers, influencing culture, facilitating technical delivery, and working on strategy and execution.What you'll doLead a distributed team of engineers to design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server hardware platforms and software stacks.Engage with commercial partners to deliver an optimized, first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example, and providing feedback.Oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely delivery on project milestones.Maintain strict quality and reliability standards.Collaborate with other teams at Canonical to align on product architecture and roadmaps.Work from home with global travel up to twice a year for up to two weeks.Who you areExperience with Linux distributions, Debian packaging, and high-performance server hardware.Experience working directly with customers, resolving technical issues, and communicating solutions effectively.Proven experience managing or leading a team of software engineers.Understanding of agile software development methodologies.Effective collaboration skills across multiple teams, building trust and delivering results.Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology field preferred.What Canonical offersLearning and Development opportunities.Annual Compensation Review.Recognition Rewards.Annual Leave.Priority Travel Pass.We foster a workplace free from discrimination.
