Job FunctionsActs as the FTA subject matter expert and performs day-to-day FTA operations.Implement JCI's strategic drivers by building a high-performance culture, driving operational improvements, and creating growth platforms in leading self.Responsible for supporting USMCA savings annually.Analyzes Bills of material data, Country of Origin data, manufacturing process and tariff classification to determine if product qualifies for free trade agreement related duty reduction.Analyzes vendor FTA support documentation to certify.Maintains and applies regulatory expertise in the Regional Value Content (RVC) provisions for USMCA and other trade programs regarding foreign and domestic content of imported, exported, and domestically procured service and production parts and JCI manufactured items.Provide interpretation and regulatory guidance on matters related to FTA qualifications and rules of origin applicability.Communicates results of FTA RVC analysis to appropriate internal stakeholders.Recommends, establishes, implements, monitors, revises and interprets departmental and cross-functional procedures to ensure import and export of foreign goods in compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations.Manages services to solicit and compile origin data for the free trade agreements; coordinates delivery of bill of material data for analysis under the regulatory programs described above.Maintains general recordkeeping requirements in compliance with respective country regulations.Interfaces with various departments to analyze and compare the impact of country of origin of potential sourcing decisions or changes, prepares and provides analysis of impact of country of origin and FTA eligibility on new projects, as requested.Coordinates with domestic and foreign vendor personnel; interfaces with external service providers and parts vendors.Supports other customs / export compliance and import operations staff and coordinates to identify and implement operational synergies and efficiencies.Qualifications2-5 years of related trade compliance experience, with a focus on FTAs.Knowledge of US and foreign customs procedures and requirements.Free Trade experience required.Ability to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed and sometimes poorly defined information and make sound and accurate conclusions.
