• Automation
• Engineer

• Flex Guadalajara, North Site.
• Responsible for specifying, designing, installing, and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications
• What a typical day looks like :
• Take ownership during the entire life cycle of automation projects, from concept to feasibility and from fabrication and test to production.
• Define, develop, and deploy automation into Flex sites. Design the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
• Design and engineer moderate and complex automation equipment, tooling, and applications
• Prepare RFQ’s and solicit quotations from automation suppliers. Evaluate supplier quotations to obtain the best combination of technical solution, cost and timing.
• Develop budget and schedule for projects and manage projects to stay within them. Able to quickly cost evaluate and work up the financial justification for automating
• Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
• Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects.
• Provide on-site support during machine build, debug and testing / qualification.
• Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met.
• Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification activities.
• Develop manufacturing solutions with the best combination of manual, semi-automation and / or full automation. Evaluate and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
• Implement cost effective automation solution.
• Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline.
• Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation. Conduct design-for-automation examination and provide detailed recommendations.
• Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per established schedule.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to the operation of the automation equipment
• The experience we’re looking to add to our team
• Bachelor’s Degree is required and related experience.
• Project planning skills.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 automation
• Knowledge of pneumatics and robotics
• Digitalization and control
• Intermediate to advanced English
• People management.
