AVL is the world's largest independent company for development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains (hybrid, combustion engines, transmission, electric drive, batteries and software) for passenger cars, trucks and large engines and their integration into the vehicle.
Development Engineer – DCDC Functions & Systems (Automotive)
We are seeking a highly motivated Development Engineer to join our team, focusing on the functional development of DC / DC converters for automotive applications.
This role is critical in defining, implementing, and validating the behavior and integration of DCDC systems within the vehicle architecture.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure robust and compliant system development.
Responsibilities
Execute the development of DCDC systems by understanding requirements, defining technological solutions and architectures, and coordinating integration, calibration, verification, and validation activities.
Define and review CAN communication architecture (inputs / outputs) and software behavior logic (e.g., fault handling, safe shutdown, error signaling).
Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulations.
Operate within AVL's reference project organization for product development.
Coordinate collaboration between customers, engineering domains, skill areas, and suppliers.
Act as technical lead within the DCDC system development project.
Document and present development solutions and test results to stakeholders, including release documentation.
Contribute to project planning and participate in project meetings.
Coordinate and execute performance analysis to optimize the DCDC system.
Support project time-planning and deliverable generation.
Maintain documentation within the development toolchain, including system descriptions, requirements, solutions, and test cases.
Manage integration and validation plans for the DCDC system.
Define test cases and sequences according to the verification plan.
Monitor test execution and report deviations.
Prepare technical reports and documentation for milestone and quality gate reviews.
Apply system development processes and methods, understanding both generic and product-specific approaches.
Stay updated with technological trends and development methodologies.
Troubleshoot specific technical issues related to DCDC systems.
Qualifications
