Position Overview
This individual will be responsible for the configuration, implementation and maintenance of servers, systems and applications which support the operations and continued growth of Insulet’s corporate and manufacturing operations comprised of VMware, Linux, and Microsoft technologies. The Systems Administrator will be asked to support the production and efficiency goals of Insulet by acting as the primary liaison and system admin for all Insulet systems. Ensuring compute, backup, storage, and networking are functioning optimally will require collaboration and engagement with global corporate systems and networking teams to accomplish company production goals.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and work incoming support tickets (ServiceNow), ensuring necessary IT systems are operating as expected and end user experience is optimal
- Manage VMware, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and Microsoft Windows systems in a production data environment.
- Monitoring and reporting of operating system and application performance.
- Ensure all systems are being properly backed up and restore testing is performed and logged.
- Create and maintain necessary documentation on systems and processes.
- Maintaining / repairing infrastructure components under IT control in concert with the appropriate vendors to provide 100% availability of service.
- Recommending and implementing changes supported by evidence collected from thorough performance analysis.
- Implement automation for repetitive tasks where possible.
- Recommend new technology to improve operations where appropriate.
- Work as an effective member of the global IT team with minimal supervision.
- Complete changes and maintenance as required.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience4+ years of Microsoft Windows and / or Linux system administration including Windows Server versions since 2012Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy and SQL ServerExperience with data backup, data retention, and disaster recovery exercisesExperience with VMWare installation and maintenanceExperience with iSCSI SAN (Pure) and / or Dell / EMC Isilon storage a plusExperience in validated medical device or FDA regulated operations a plusKnowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO a plusAbility to understand and communicate with a wide variety of peopleAbility to investigate, identify and solve problems quickly and efficientlyAbility to work on multiple concurrent projects and activities as both a lead and team member.Skills / Competencies
