The Inside Sales Engineer is the initial technical resource for the Internal and External Sales teams and is responsible for actively driving and managing the “Application Evaluation and Sales Price Estimation” stage of the sales process. The position operates as a bridge between customers and technical engineering teams, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the brand. The primary objective of the position is to prepare accurate sales price estimates for products and projects while communicating requirements to customers and internal departments. The Inside Sales Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all application issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction at all stages of the sales quotation process.
Responsibilities :
- Generate technical sales proposals to meet or exceed customer expectations in a timely manner. This is guided by standard work and existing tools.
- Verify that all customer and industry technical requirements comply with Crane's design and engineering specifications, applicable codes, and applicable standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, ISO, etc.).
- Ensure that customer terms and conditions are carefully evaluated and that exceptions / clarifications are clearly identified during the customer proposal phase.
- Work closely with members of the interdisciplinary team (engineering, quality, purchasing, manufacturing, external sales, finance, legal, and line of business manager) during the bidding phase to ensure compliance and satisfaction of customer expectations.
- Manage and track quotes to be added to the company's HRA site for approval by the commercial area before sending to the customer.
- Manage the receipt of customer purchase orders by clarifying the order and entering it into the system to ensure that the quote matches the purchase order and that all requirements are clearly understood.
- Guide, develop, and train other Inside Sales Engineers in standard work practices when necessary.
- Establish and maintain good communication channels with internal and external customers, including written, telephone, and verbal communication, as well as technical and commercial aspects.
Education and experience
Degree level in Industrial Engineering, or related
Minimum of two years of experience in industrial manufacturing and / or machining, welding, casting / forging, etc. is desirable. Quotations, supplier management, and customer service.
