Accounts Receivable / Cash Applications Team Leader

Purpose of Position The AP Team Lead in our Shared Service Operation is a leader within the AP team, ensuring strong communications / relationships with vendors, internal customers, and senior management. Provides supervision of the AP department for employees at entry or intermediate level as well as training and mentoring. Ensures correct and timely posting of invoices, maintains accurate financial records, and adherence to internal controls.

Responsibilities

Overall daily supervision of Accounts Payable team

Review workload allocation and ensure timely completion of deliverables

Monitors performance and ensures individual and team objectives are met

Performs audit / quality controls

Develop department metrics and ensure KPI / SLAs are met

Provides performance feedback during coaching sessions, 1 : 1s

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes

Implement best practices to improve KPI results

Define action plans to mitigate errors on processing

Ensure SOPs completion and changes are updated accordingly

Responsible for compliance with internal controls

Provide guidance to resolve complex issues, discrepancies

Assist with efficient and timely month end closing

Ad hoc responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Skills Required

Finance, Business Administration or related degree

Excellent communication in English which must include oral, written, and comprehension skills

At least 7 years of work experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Shared Service Centers

Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising or leading teams

Experience managing teams utilizing Coupa Software

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong leadership and organizational skills

Able to work independently, assess priorities, and meet tight deadlines

Proven problem-solving abilities

Excellent analytical skills

Strong work ethic

Preferred but not Essential

Experience in Migrations / Knowledge transfer

Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, Esker, and Readsoft (ProcessIT) systems
