Overview
Airswift is looking for a General Director to work on a permanent contract in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, with a leading technology company serving the oil & gas sector.
This executive will lead the strategic operation and development of a high-performance organization focused on delivering software, data analytics, field engineering, and real-time monitoring solutions for upstream energy operations. The role demands strong leadership, technical depth, and a proven ability to scale innovation across complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company’s technological vision aligned with oil & gas business objectives
- Oversee software development, data science, field operations, and real-time monitoring teams
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence
- Establish and monitor KPIs across technology and operational projects
- Ensure robust software architecture, agile development, and scalable digital solutions
- Supervise Big Data infrastructure, predictive analytics, and reporting systems
- Coordinate field engineering operations, including equipment functionality, connectivity, inventory, and technical support
- Lead remote monitoring of drilling operations, logistics control, and client reporting
- Represent the company in strategic client meetings and technical-commercial boards
- Translate client needs into actionable technical and operational solutions
- Manage end-to-end project execution, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage
- Oversee cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory compliance
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across all technical domains
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Petroleum Engineering, Electronics, or related field. Master’s in Technology Management, Energy, or MBA.
Experience :
Minimum 20 years in technical roles within the energy sectorAt least 8 years in executive leadership positionsProven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects under pressureTechnical Knowledge :
