The Opportunity
This is not a classic "build my idea from scratch" CTO role.
You'll step into :
A functioning, advanced prototypeA strong technical foundationA validated roadmapSupported by NEXT AI Incubator 2024 and Constructor University Start 2025, and currently maintaining light early‐stage contact with potential investors.A clear timeline to public launchA founder fully immersed and committedYou will own the entire technical direction, architecture, engineering standards, and team building. Your leadership will determine how we go from a near‐finished prototype to a globally competitive AI‐first learning platform.
Your Role (High‐Level)
First 6–12 Months
Lead the final 20% required to bring the platform to full production‐gradeValidate, refine, and harden the architecture for scale and enterprise requirementsOptimize reliability, performance, and user experienceRecruit and mentor the first engineersBuild documentation, workflows, and an engineering cultureWork closely with the Founder on roadmap, prioritization, and customer‐readinessSupport fundraising through technical due diligence and product demosYear 2+
Scale engineering organization (team of 5–15+)Architect for large scale (multi‐tenant, high‐availability, global)Develop advanced AI‐driven personalization and internal proprietary systemsGuide enterprise integrations and expand the technical capabilities of the platformRepresent engineering to investors, customers, and strategic partnersFrontend Expertise
Deep experience with at least one major framework (React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, etc.)Responsive, mobile‐first implementationPerformance optimization & accessibility knowledgeExperience designing and scaling APIsStrong grounding in at least one backend ecosystem (Node.js, Python, Go, Java, etc.)Familiarity with modular or service‐oriented architecturesExperience with authentication / authorization frameworksUnderstanding of caching, async processing, job queues, and request performanceData & Storage
Expertise with relational databases (schema design, optimization)Familiarity with NoSQL / document storesMulti‐tenant SaaS data modeling experienceUnderstanding of analytics pipelines (events, logs, dashboards)Hands‐on experience deploying production apps on any major cloud providerAbility to design secure and scalable infrastructure (IaC optional but valuable)CI / CD pipelines, automated testing, version control workflowsMonitoring, logging, observability toolsComfort with Docker or container‐based environmentsExperience integrating or experimenting with LLM APIsAbility to evaluate AI tools, frameworks, and model providersOptional : experience with VR / AR frameworks (WebXR, Three.js, Unity, etc.)Proven ability to bring a product from prototype → production → scaleStrong architectural judgment, systems thinking, and trade‐off decision‐makingExperience building and leading small engineering teamsExcellent documentation and communication habitsFounder mentality : ownership, speed, clarity, accountabilityEquity
