We are expanding our presence in Mexico City and seeking an experienced Collection Manager to lead our collections team and drive recovery performance while maintaining professionalism and compliance.
Position Overview
The Collection Manager will be responsible for overseeing the collections department, developing strategies to maximize recovery, and managing a team focused on delinquent accounts. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in collections (loans, MCA, or payday lending), and a proven ability to balance assertive recovery with compliance and customer relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the collections team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement collection strategies to maximize recovery rates across loan, MCA, and payday loan portfolios.
- Monitor delinquency trends, create performance reports, and recommend improvements to collection processes.
- Oversee skip tracing, UCC filings, restructuring negotiations, and enforcement actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Manage vendor relationships (legal, enforcement, technology platforms).
- Train and mentor staff on best practices, scripts, and negotiation strategies.
- Collaborate with U.S. and Mexico leadership teams to align recovery goals with business objectives.
- Handle escalated cases directly and maintain relationships with key borrowers when required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or related field (preferred).5+ years of experience in collections management, preferably in loans, MCA, payday lending, or financial services.Strong knowledge of recovery strategies, legal collection processes, and compliance.Experience with skip tracing tools, credit bureau reports, and enforcement actions.Excellent leadership, coaching, and team management skills.Analytical and data-driven, with strong reporting and KPI management capabilities.Bilingual : Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).Based in Mexico City (Reforma) or willing to commute.What We Offer
