Category Manager, Procurement Logistics NORTH AMERICA
In this role, you will lead the Logistics category in the NORTH AMERICA region, being responsible to develop, maintain and execute strategies to source a competitive and cost-effective regional portfolio of materials & services related to :
~ Warehousing.
~4PL partner regional animation.
You will lead a team of Procurement professionals, including Associate Managers, Senior Buyers, and shared service centre resources, while collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders in Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Corporate Functions. This position plays a critical role in driving supplier performance, innovation, and digital transformation across the Procurement landscape.
You will be accountable for the management and performance of this full portfolio, including establishing sourcing strategies, setting strategic objectives, optimizing supplier’s portfolio and executing strategic transformative projects. He / she will manage relationships with key suppliers, ensure alignment with business objectives, and participate with Global category teams to align sourcing strategies with global, regional, and local business needs.
Drive cost competitiveness through TCO and cash optimization, with a cross-functional vision.
The job function requires international external interactions with suppliers and Logistics market / network knowledge. In addition, it requires extensive internal interaction with key functions including Operations, Business teams, Quality, Commercial, and Technical Program leads.
Develop strong sourcing capabilities within the organization in North America, that support the organization in delivering successful logistics services regionally.
Lead and actively participate in strategic transformation projects across the logistics procurement function.
Maintain connections with Logistics & Supply Chain organizations to understand demand and future trends in their needs.
Develop regional category strategies for your category, to ensure objectives from Logistics are met, with lowest life cycle costs.
Perform continually spend analysis on assigned categories and sub-categories, assess market intelligence, and develop full market analysis, Identify and approve new vendors to diversify supply portfolio.
Develop new and existing supplier partnerships and collaboration to support growth strategy with innovation and technology, support technology buying by accessing supplier capabilities and reduce non-value-added suppliers.
Be the advocate of the regional spend.
Negotiate and resolve vendor performance issues and negotiate claims, when necessary.
Optimization and continuous improvement in service quality through collaboration with the stakeholders.
Bachelor, or master’s degree in Supply Chain (preferred), Business, Economics, Science / Engineering, or equivalent experience
Related experience in the space operating around services procurement, supplier relationship management (
CPSM or SPSM or related certification in supply chain or procurement excellence
Ideally, experience in the procurement area of responsibility with depth and contacts in key markets (
Strong knowledge of business practices and financial concepts / impact / analyses
Solid Financial acumen ideally acquired through a commodity procurement role (involving hedging)
Strong people skills, project management and experience in cross-functional teams
based suppliers, working in multinational and cross-cultural environments, and navigating complexity within matrix organizations.
