Our Collins Aerospace Aerostructure composite manufacturing and metal fabrication facility is seeking a Senior Manager Structural Engineering with a strong background in structural analysis to oversee a team of stress engineers.This position provides technical support during the critical product stages of designs, develops and tests metallic or non-metallic structures or materials and their related fabrication processes for use in engineering designs.What You Will Do : Boosts teamwork and collaboration environment by embracing our culture of appreciation, engenders empowermentFoster a high-performing, motivated team environment by leveraging technical expertise and effective leadershipDefine team objectives and set priorities by outlining actionable plans and determining the necessary steps to achieve themLead engineering investigations to identify root causes and define corrective or preventive actionsDrive resolutions of technical challenges through strategic planning, team organization, and performance measurement to meet established goalsOversee coordination of Development, Value Engineering, Producibility, and Sustaining Engineering efforts, ensuring alignment with program and customer needsDevelop and implement a cost-effective sourcing strategy that aligns with both budget constraints and long-term business goalsEstablish performance metrics and reporting structures to track progress and ensure accountabilityEnsure the consistent use of standard analysis methods or define and apply mitigation approaches when deviations are necessaryProvide technical guidance and direction, working closely with subject matter experts and cross-disciplinary peersApply in-depth knowledge in structural analysis, particularly within nacelle systems and thrust reversersChampion process improvements to support broader business objectivesEnsure all technical deliverables are accounted for while driving continuous improvement in core metricsEvaluate individual performance in the context of strategic business goalsPresent updates, strategies, and outcomes effectively to senior leadershipSkilled in Conversational and technical EnglishQualifications You Must Have : Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 7 years' experience leading teamsBackground in structural or stress engineering analysisProven track record in managing or guiding engineering teamsSkilled in working closely with internal and external stakeholders or clientsKnowledge of aircraft structural systems, components, and assembliesStrong grasp of load transfer principles and balancing; hands-on experience with classical analysis techniquesLean oriented with exposure to and application of process improvement methodologiesQualifications We Prefer : Ability to represent the company in technical review meetings and have excellent customer relationsProven successful leadership in creating and maintaining a team-oriented work environmentWhat You Will Learn : Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborative teams and departments, broadening skillsets and knowledge base.
