Business Analyst - Finance

The Business Analyst work closely with Business Partners and Business Subject Matter Experts in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of functional requirements on medium to large, highly complex technical and nontechnical projects. This role will elicit requirements, benefits, and cost analysis, and change requests using one or more of the following methods : interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis in the most efficient means possible.

This role will also provide recommendations to senior management regarding type and number of resources human, financial, tools, etc. required to complete assigned projects. Solicit and obtain management authorization for development, documentation and implementation of new features and information processing systems as well as maintenance and support of existing application systems. Projects are cross functional, requiring a broad knowledge of the Company, key functions, and products. Participate in the full systems development life cycle of assigned technical and non-technical projects to ensure comprehensive, timely and high quality outcome of assigned projects. Assist in developing project plans using tools that facilitate task listing, assignments, risks, tracking and modification to ensure business requirements are completely satisfied, on time and within budget. Assist in the development of executive reports on assigned projects to keep management apprised of project status, major issues, scope changes, resource changes and milestone achievement or misses. Liaise between business and technology partners to ensure requirements are translated in a way well understood by technology, and ensure technology solutions are understood by and meet the needs of the business.

Main activities :

  • Deliver high quality, detailed business requirements, process design documentation, cost benefit analysis, and clear choice estimations.
  • Ensure the use of standard methods / processes to deliver projects that adhere to the Project Delivery Process standards.
  • Continually seeks ways of improving work processes.
  • Contains a high level of expertise in one or more functional and technical areas.
  • Build trusting relationships with internal customers by consistently eliciting requirements that meet and deliver upon their business needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about HSBC business needs, the businesses of competitors, and emerging trends in the industry landscape.

Requirements :

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent business experience in a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years combined experience in technology, project management, banking, and / or operations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical and / or nontechnical projects.
  • Have a solid knowledge of project lifecycle and methodologies. (Agile, Scrum)
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, written & verbal communication skills.
  • Regulatory requirements (Basel, S166, Liquidity, financial reporting).

    A Business Analyst (BA) represents the interests of a specific functional area (e.g., Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal, or the Programmatic Chapter) and plays a key role throughout the corporate IT applications life cycle. The BA gathers and analyzes business needs, translating them into IT requirements, ensuring alignment with functional strategies and goals. Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and KMIT teams, the BA ensures clear communication, mutual understanding of objectives, timelines, and constraints.

    The BA prioritizes requirements, balancing business value with IT feasibility and costs while managing interdependencies between cross-functional business processes and IT systems. They define the scope of projects, manage scope creep, and adapt to changing needs. Additionally, the BA leads testing of new applications and change requests to ensure that solutions meet business expectations and resolve arising issues.

    Throughout the process, the BA maintains documentation, manages stakeholder relationships, and ensures the successful delivery of ITsolutions aligned with business goals. The BA is essential in ensuring IT projects deliver value and align with business priorities.

    The BA should be an experienced professional, knowledgeable of corporate and departmental strategies and goals, fully trusted by their principal, highly respected by colleagues and consultant partners, and possess seniority and expertise.

    Key Responsibilities

    Requirement Analysis and Documentation

  • Align user IT strategy and actions with the overall department strategy, ensuring a clear understanding of the principal's (Department Head's) objectives and priorities, and ensuring IT requirements reflect those goals.
  • Secure the appropriate level of delegation to represent the department when articulating IT requirements and priorities.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements for KMIT,
  • documenting and presenting them according to KMIT procedures.

  • When necessary, prepare benefit statements for business cases related to functionality and / or change requests for applications.
  • Serve as the focal point with KMIT to consolidate and prioritize improvement or Change Requests, as well as reporting and assigning the severity of Incident Reports
  • Act as a bridge between business and IT teams, clarifying questions and concerns.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather input from stakeholders within the department, ensuring their needs are well-represented and harmonized.
  • For cross-departmental applications, collaborate with other BAs to harmonize requirements, resolve interdependencies, and negotiate KMIT priorities. This is specially relevant for business process modeling that spans multiple departments.
  • Evaluate current business processes and recommend improvements or opportunities for automation.
  • Brief and prepare his / her principal for Steering Committee sessions; the principal may decide on the BA's participation as a backbencher.
  • Develop user manuals, process guides, and training materials for end users, and coordinate training programs for department users.
  • Lead testing teams to assess new functionality or changes to applications introduced by KMIT.
  • Assist in the creation of test cases or acceptance criteria for user testing.
  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that solutions meet business needs and recommend the sign-off of the department principal.
  • Requirements

  • Finance education background.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in understanding of IT systems, databases, and the software development life cycle.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Visio, Jira, or similar for process mapping and requirement tracking.
  • Professional certifications such as : CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) , PMI-PBA (Project Management Institute - Professional in Business Analysis)
  • Experience working in cross-functionalteams, particularly bridging business and IT functions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), HRIS, or financial software.

    Role Overview :

    We are seeking a Business Translator to support our client. The professional will act as a bridge between the Marketing (MKT) business teams and the Consumer Data (CD) team, translating business requirements into actionable insights for the technical team.

    This role requires strong analytical skills, project coordination, and effective stakeholder communication.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with Marketing and CD teams to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements.
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure accurate implementation of insights and data-driven solutions.
  • Analyze data and support reporting or insights generation to inform business decisions.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and provide project updates.
  • Contribute to process improvements and facilitate knowledge sharing between business and technical teams.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications :
  • Experience in data analysis and project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
  • Knowledge of CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) or retail industry is desirable.
  • Reside in Mexico City (Federal District).

    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for assisting in the development and analysis of a monthly Commercial forecast. In addition, the Financial Analyst – Commercial Business Partner, will assist in the transfer of financial knowledge and the reinforcement of financial principles to the Commercial Organization. Key Result Areas include achieving results with regards to delivering Commercial Gross Margin plan / forecast through analysis, insight and supporting decision making.

    Responsibilities

    Specific Accountabilities

  • Lead the customer teams during business planning by providing financial and business analysis (in collaboration with the Finance COE); analyze customer plans to ensure financial expectations are achieved.
  • Investigate and provide understanding about Market / Cluster Performance, Outlook and Risk profile, through analysis and partnering with Comercial Teams.
  • Provide decision support to Commercial Teams to help optimize Energizer’s sales and profit growth.
  • Manage the Trade Spend funds to optimize ROI and ensure financial goals are met.
  • Provide financial analysis for major proposals affecting the business; e.g. contract renewals, line reviews and competitive pressures.
  • Support delivery of system & process improvements through collaboration with TG COE and engagement with the commercial team.
  • In depth evaluation (review & commentary on trends & anomalies) and reporting to key stakeholders for month end close activities & reports - examples : Monthly Flash Report (MFR), GSR and Working Capital Reconciliation, etc.
  • Establish follow-up actions to; course correct poor performance, or amply good outcomes.
