Job Summary
Responsible for planning and managing material requirements to ensure timely availability for production, while optimizing inventory levels and supporting customer demand.
Main Responsibilities
- Create the master planning schedule in the MRP system to generate manufacturing and raw material requirements and achieve target inventory levels.
- Analyze customer demand and its variations in mix and volume, identify lead time and capacity constraints, and proactively alert potential issues.
- Import and update customer demands, anticipate and ensure production activities are focused on meeting those demands.
- Monitor the MPS, assign priorities, record causes of schedule changes, and ensure root causes are resolved in time.
- Establish and maintain planning parameters in the ERP / MRP system.
- Generate schedule compliance reports, communicate and follow up on performance indicators.
- Coordinate with Engineering to review and validate the bill of materials.
- Establish and implement best practices related to inventory planning.
- Define and manage safety stock levels, monitor excess, aging, and obsolete inventory.
- Assist the materials group in analyzing the need and size of critical material inventories to handle customer demand fluctuations.
- Generate clear-to-build reports and shortage analysis.
- Communicate resource constraints to leaders of different functional areas.
- Assist in financial planning by providing sales and production analysis, including variations and limitations.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Materials to resolve productivity issues, equipment utilization, capacity, downtime reduction, and optimal production quantities.
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production to ensure 100% OTD by establishing and monitoring the production schedule and proactively resolving issues.
- Lead weekly planning meetings, presenting potential problems and managing solutions.
- Perform scenario analysis of additional demand impact before committing to the customer.
