In Fortune Brands Innovation, Inc., we are seeking a Packaging Engineer (Consumer Products) for our New Innovation Center in Nuevo Leon . In this role, you will be part of the Packaging Engineering Team focusing on customer-facing packaging across our portfolio of mechanical and connected products. Your responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver packaging solutions that meet requirements related to cost, sustainability, and product protection. Projects will range from following established guidelines to developing entirely new platformed solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the packaging development process, including design creation, development, and performance testing.
- Understand product characteristics, environmental and safety requirements, and available packaging materials and options.
- Support manufacturing and distribution operations by providing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, or address quality issues.
- Assist Marketing and Sales by developing packaging for new programs and promotions, including design alternatives, cost estimates, procurement of prototypes, and testing coordination.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure packaging designs are optimized for assembly processes.
- Organize packaging requirements in coordination with sourcing and suppliers.
- Develop and implement test plans to ensure packaging meets all internal and external requirements.
- Assess project risks and communicate key issues to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate packaging information and data.
- Coordinate the design and development of new packaging and programs.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through evaluation of new materials, methods, or equipment.
- Investigate and respond to customer / consumer complaints related to packaging.
- Benchmark against competitors and stay updated on leading packaging technologies to guide development efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent experience.Advanced English skills.Valid Visa and willingness to travel.Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.Knowledge of packaging processes, methods, codes, and performance testing standards (ISTA, ASTM, shock & vibration, compression).Solution-oriented, collaborative, proactive, self-starting, and a team player.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of effective interaction at all organizational levels.Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with sustainable packaging solutions (materials, processes).Experience with packaging implementation for automation.Familiarity with packaging regulations in the US and Europe.Experience with packaging-related simulation is a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
