Your New Role
Our Media Platform Operations team is looking for a highly capable DBA Manager who can manage and lead a team of DBAs. You will guide a team to design and develop database systems, provide guidance on database structures and features, create standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance, troubleshoot complex database issues, maintain disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability, and develop best practices for performance and operational efficiency.
Your Role Accountabilities
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DBAs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and set goals for team members.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Provide expert-level guidance in database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and data modeling.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Lead troubleshooting for complex database issues and optimize systems for better performance and cost efficiency.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices, recommending innovations that enhance data management capabilities.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database operations with business needs.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Serve as the primary contact for database-related audits and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Establish and maintain KPIs for database operations and provide regular reports to senior management.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Plan and manage database projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Allocate resources efficiently to meet project demands and balance team workload.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Coordinate DBA activities with the infrastructure team to build database servers according to customer requirements in a timely manner.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Mentor Database Administrators and Associate Database Administrators, providing support for problem solving, escalations, and day-to-day challenges.
- OPERATIONS / PROJECT MANAGEMENT : Provide 24 / 7 support.
- STRATEGY : Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for database management aligned with organizational objectives.
- STRATEGY : Oversee design, deployment, and management of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- STRATEGY : Ensure databases are secure, scalable, and meet application performance requirements.
- STRATEGY : Collaborate with IT and business leaders to define architecture and roadmaps for future database projects.
- STRATEGY : Lead the team in identifying and implementing new technologies to support ongoing projects.
- ANALYTICS : Implement robust monitoring and alerting to quickly detect and resolve database-related issues.
- ANALYTICS : Review and update database standards across platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, Databricks).
- ANALYTICS : Lead the team in developing database structures and features aligned with organizational needs.
- ANALYTICS : Create, review, and maintain operational documentation for 24 / 7 operations and junior DBAs.
Qualifications & Experiences
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology.8+ years of experience in database management and leading database teams.Proficiency in SQL and experience with multiple relational and non-relational database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).Strong understanding of data architecture, data integration, and ETL processes.Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner) and hybrid environments.Extensive experience with multiple database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks).Experience with databases hosted on-premises and in AWS cloud; strong experience with AWS RDS is required.Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes using Unix shell scripting and Windows BAT.Ability to develop standardized installation and configuration processes and procedures for databases.Extensive experience with disaster recovery and high availability implementations.Ability to provide technical documentation and project plans for technical staff.How We Get Things Done
