As a Field Application Scientist (FAS) , you will serve as a scientific expert and trusted partner for MGI customers across Mexico and Latin America.
You will deliver hands-on training, provide technical and application support, and help customers optimize experimental design and data workflows. You’ll also collaborate with global and regional teams to advance customer success and shape the adoption of MGI’s NGS platforms in research and clinical settings.
Conduct customer training and provide expert guidance on MGI instruments, software, and NGS applications.
Offer scientific and technical troubleshooting , assisting with experimental design, data analysis, and workflow optimization for sequencing projects.
Support commercial initiatives through technical presentations, seminars, and workshops that highlight MGI’s solutions and performance.
Collaborate closely with global FAS colleagues to share best practices, drive standardization, and enhance regional expertise.
Provide structured feedback to R&D, Product Management, and Marketing on customer experience and product performance.
Contribute to the creation and delivery of training materials, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing programs .
Mentor and coach new FAS team members, helping to build a strong and collaborative regional team.
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics , or a related field.
Solid academic or professional experience with NGS workflows (library prep, sequencing, data analysis).
Prior Field Application Scientist or customer-facing laboratory experience is highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and support customers on-site and remotely.
occasional global travel (e.g., China) for training or meetings.
Experience in bioinformatics or data interpretation is a plus.
