The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for completing protection & control design on various substation projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer – P&C will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors and client needs.

Job Functions :

• Create / modify one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements, and cable lists for 12-500kV substations.
• Coordinate and provide technical assistance to SCADA engineers, substation physical engineers, and control design staff to develop complete protection, control, and monitoring systems.
• Perform calculations such as voltage drop, CT burden & saturation, lighting, and short circuit.
• Create relay setting database files and technical reports for relays associated with transmission lines, transformers, breakers, buses, and other associated devices.
• Utilize system studies in order to evaluate or design protective relay and control systems for appropriate substation protection.
• Develop protection relaying testing & commissioning plans to be executed by others. Review and approve testing & commissioning reports done by others.
• Create / modify technical specifications for major equipment, such as power transformers, power circuit breakers, control houses, and other related materials.
• Provide engineering, construction, and testing & commissioning support for projects.
• Review design drawings and specifications to ensure projects meet acceptable standards of operability, functionality, maintainability, reliability, durability, and safety.
• Create project scope descriptions and man-hour estimates with sufficient details to clearly define work and cost required.
• Apply field mark-ups of project as-built drawings.
• Assist project manager to develop scope of work and conceptual design.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with project manager, client, and others as needed.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced team members.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of one's work.
