The position is proposed in GE Vernova’s gas turbine platforms, Mechanical CoE – Structures, department which is responsible for the execution of projects and development initiatives with a wide scope and a high impact around Starting Means, Turning gear, Load Gear and coupling guard on load gear. The Lead Engineer owns this critical equipment for GE Vernova’s gas turbine platforms. This is a cross-functional role with ownership of equipment on typical new unit orders to manage the execution of technical design & engineering tasks of GT (mainly) and ST / Generator systems for project-specific drawings, specifications and BOMs, as well as for New Product Introduction (NPI) to deliver on-time with expected high quality level. It requires strong communication and reporting skills for activity follow-up with management. The Lead Engineer works in close contact with the Technical Leader, Principal Engineer and Consulting Engineer, and interacts with other groups, including Hazardous Gas Protection, PFL (Product Fulfilment Leader), Power Train dynamics group, GT-PE (Gas Turbine Project Engineer) for gas power plant projects. He / she will coordinate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing, customers, suppliers, and sites during project execution.

(Execute design tasks)
Coordinate and manage the execution of design tasks for drawings / BOMs, to deliver on time with expected high quality and evaluate adherence to country-specific requirements and compliance.Ensure the design is per applicable rules, regulations, codes and standards, respective GE Vernova rules, design practice / work instruction, contractual requirements and per good engineering practices especially about safety, health and environmental aspects of site personnel, operators, maintenance personnel and third parties.Know how own area is interfaced with others.Use judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational / product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.Solve issues on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Perform read-across to ensure real-time corrective action implementation.Ensure equipment maintainability and accessibility by appropriate arrangement interfacing with PDE & supplier for 3D model review, and when needed witnessing function and performance tests at supplier site.Participate in HAZOP-studies, hazard assessment and design reviews and ensure corrective actions are closed on time.Support Consulting Engineer, Principal Engineer and Technical Leader to ensure on-time RCA closure, interacting openly with customers and our suppliers to get agreement on proposed solution, proper feedback, and improvement actions to be implemented within documentation and with suppliers / manufacturers.Develop detailed system & hardware design with component specifications & detailed drawings, engineering calculations & analyses to size system components.Carry out all activities related to the purchase of equipment designed by a third party / supplier based on Built-to-Specs, Built-to-Prints and Built-to-Models concepts, carrying out document review and releasing the information for further internal use, performing technical review.Support / prepare design concepts and perform design, system and equipment engineering for GT / ST / Generator Starting Means, turning gear, Load Gear and load gear coupling guard.Supporting erection and commissioning activities at site addressing field issues (e.g., ER-case, RCAs) and finally supporting claim negotiation.Improve customer responsiveness by keeping project schedule, pro-active follow-up of supplier deviations, pro-active follow-up of field issues, timely close-out of ER / NCR while feeding ERS database for generic cases.(NPI, REQ-NPI activity)
Ensure standard part list (GBOM) and standard designs are in place and maintained up to date to improve the GE Vernova offering’s competitiveness.Provide proposals for design improvement and cost reduction to improve competitiveness of GE Vernova offered equipment & design.Contribute towards strategy and product development. Take new perspective on existing solutions.Contributes or leads the introduction of new technology / innovations into the technical design.Prepare or support design documents & databases (e.g., system design practices, system application guidelines, system descriptions / GEKs, OTR standard documentation / templates, standard work, GBOM parts, AVEVA reference, device summary etc.) based on lessons learned of ongoing projects and site feedback.Maintain operational rigor to deliver under NPI, Requisition and RTS spend.Act as an Individual Contributor, support manager on weekly scrum and project review meetings.(Transverse work)
Support partners, Services, Fulfillment, GT-PE and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams.Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.Provide technical guidance to support ITO team for cost & cycle estimates.Support Platform Leader to improve standards based on site installation / commissioning feedback.Align with Sourcing & Supplier Quality team to identify new suppliers and be involved for qualification and ramp-up, ensuring they understand & follow our specifications & drawings to become reliable business partners.Collaborate with supplier and Sourcing Quality team to ensure excellent quality of products delivered to customer.Required Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in engineering or equivalent degree OR Masters from a well recognized university.At least 3 years of engineering experience.Know and apply design methods, rules and tools to specify the systems / components.English language mandatoryGood knowledge of engineering, design and project management tools and methods e.g. GTCC-PLM, AVEVA, software, etc.Desired Characteristics
