As part of the Forvia Hella Body Control Product Center, the Software Architect will lead the design and evolution of embedded software products for Memory Seat Modules (MSMs) and Intelligent Power Distribution Modules (IPDMs) at NSA region. This role is central to enabling advanced comfort, personalization, and intelligent power management features in next-generation vehicles, while ensuring compliance with automotive standards and scalability across OEM platforms.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and maintain modular, scalable, and reusable software architecture for MSM and IPDM ECUs.
- Ensure alignment with industry standards including AUTOSAR Classic, Functional Safety, ASPICE, and Cybersecurity.
- Design software components for motor control, seat position memory, load switching, diagnostics, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Platform Development & Integration
Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware and vehicle networks.Drive platform harmonization and reuse across multiple OEM programs and vehicle platforms.Support the development of bootloaders, AUTOSAR based architectures, and over-the-air update capabilities.Technical Leadership
Provide architectural guidance to development teams throughout the software lifecycle.Conduct design reviews, interface definition workshops, and technical auditsMentor junior architects and developers in best practices and architectural principles.Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure traceability from system requirements to software requirements, implementation and validation.Support functional safety activities including FMEA and safety concept development.Participate in internal and external audits related to ASPICE compliance.Innovation & Strategy
Contribute to the strategic roadmap of the Body Control Product Center, focusing on software scalability and future-proofing.Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.7+ years of experience in embedded software development, with at least 3 years in a software architecture role.Deep understanding of AUTOSAR Classic, CAN / LIN communication, and embedded bootloader strategies.Experience with seat comfort systems, motor control, and power distribution logic.Proficiency in tools such as Rational Rhapsody, Vector DaVinci, and MATLAB / Simulink.Strong communication skills in EnglishPreferred Skills :
Experience working within Tier 1 automotive suppliers and OEM development cycles.Familiarity with Model-Based Design (MBD) and Simulink auto-code generation.Knowledge of diagnostic protocols (UDS, ODX) and service-oriented communication.Exposure to AGILE development, CI / CD pipelines, and DevOps practices in embedded environments.HELLA is an equal opportunity employer and welcoms applications from diverse candidates.
