- Responsibilities and Specific Duties
- Demonstrate a

- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace components on heavy-duty vehicles, including brake systems, fuel / emission systems, driveline, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and battery maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including ADA equipment, air conditioning, brakes, chassis, cooling systems, engines, lighting, gauges, and safety equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Allison DOC) for accurate troubleshooting.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and hoists safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate electronic repair orders and service records.
- Conduct test drives and operational checks to ensure proper functionality.
- Perform minor fabrication, welding, grinding, and soldering as needed.
- Respond to service calls and assist in training lower-level personnel.
- Backfill supervisory duties when required.

- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of vocational / technical schooling or equivalent experience.
- Preferred
- One year of progressive heavy equipment maintenance experience.
- Two years technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Must hold and maintain
- ASE Truck or Transit Bus certifications
- and
- EPA
- Air Conditioning Certification
- Three years of verifiable experience in heavy-duty diesel bus or truck maintenance preferred.
- Additional Requirements
- Must provide own hand tools.
- Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
- No criminal convictions (DWI, DUI, assault, controlled substances) within the last 5 years.
- Ability to work flexible hours in a 24 / 7 environment.
- Must be able to read and follow schematics.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy components and work in various positions.
- Comfortable working with in-ground and above-ground hoists.
- Certifications
- ASE Certification (required).
- EPA
- Air Conditioning Certification (required).
