Acts as subject matter expert for technical solutions.ResponsibilitiesLeads Landscape team and others in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problemsCollaborates with PIC in defining project work plans and developing and managing the production schedule, including effectively defining and meeting deadlinesApplies creative thinking to achieve innovative solutionsMay produce and supervise production of graphic materials for presentationLeads the creation and modification of complex detailed implementation documents to incorporate the design intent, using diverse knowledge of landscape architecture principles and practices and advanced techniquesSupervises the preparation of documents by landscape team, including verifying implementation documents conform to QA / QC and HKS standards, best practice and quality expectationsWrites reports or specifications for assigned projectPrepares client presentations and presents design concepts and drawingsMaintains open communication with client and provides guidance through projectsCoordinates with Project Leads, clients, public agencies, consultants and contractors to incorporate engineering systems, respond to requests for information, clarifications and modifications, and obtain approvals, negotiations and adjusting scope of servicesCommunicates with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentationExercises skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issuesOversees the work of the consultant teamOversees product and planting research; assists project designers with material and system evaluation to make proper selectionsMaintains awareness of risk management for potential project issues and involves PIC if neededParticipates in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesAttends on-site visits and project meetings and documents as neededResponsible for preparing and / or reviewing meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetingsTravel will be requiredQualificationsAccredited Master's degree in Landscape ArchitectureTypically, 15+ years of experienceSustainable design accreditation preferredProficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD and 3D modeling software preferredExperience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign graphic software preferredProficiency in MS Office Suite preferredAdvanced knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelinesAdvanced knowledge of QA / QC processAdvanced knowledge of codes and ability to research and apply / incorporate into implementation documentsStrong presentation skillsStrong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same timeAbility to manage team with diplomatic leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and externalAbility to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationshipsAbility to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writingAbility to problem solve and apply innovative solutionsAbility to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environmentAbility to effectively meet deadlines at expected qualityIf you currently work for HKS, please submit your application via theInternal Careers Portal.HKS is an EEO / AA Employer : M / F / Disabled / Veteran
