Work Environment

Our positions in Monterrey are hybrid roles enabling our team to work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely. Our office space in Monterrey was designed to promote collaboration for our Scrum teams and increase our development velocity. In addition, you'll enjoy a great view of the city, fresh coffee, and the occasional happy hour.

Position Summary

We’re seeking a QA Automation Engineer with a strong foundation in both manual and automated testing practices. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team focused on delivering high-quality web and mobile applications. While your primary focus will be building and maintaining automation test suites, you may also contribute to exploratory and manual test cycles where automation is not yet implemented or where a hands-on approach is critical to coverage.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI, API, and integration testing using industry-standard frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and Manual QA to understand business requirements and translate them into test automation strategies.
  • Participate in test execution for new features, exploratory testing, and regression cycles where automation is not yet implemented and if needed.
  • Maintain test plans, test cases, and test data to support automated testing efforts.
  • Integrate automation into CI / CD pipelines and work to improve build verification through continuous testing.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on failed tests and assist developers in reproducing and resolving defects.
  • Advocate for testability and quality from the early stages of development.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand ups, and retrospectives to ensure QA input is integrated throughout the Agile lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to expand automation coverage, improve efficiency, and reduce cycle time.
  • Stay informed on QA best practices, new testing tools, and trends in automation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software QA, with at least 2 years focused on test automation.
  • Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
  • Proficiency in programming / scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with testing for both web and mobile applications.
  • Solid understanding of Agile software development, SDLC, and QA lifecycle.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced English is a must.
