Storage Product Manager (Forecasting & Pricing) - Early career — IBM
Introduction
We’re hiring a Product Manager focused on Storage Business Forecasting and Analysis to be a finance and supply chain liaison. This role sits at the intersection of product, operations, and business strategy . You’ll be responsible for building the product management input for pricing, volume planning, and business case frameworks that support our FlashSystem storage products and related sales bundles. This is a unique opportunity to lay the groundwork for how we plan, price, and operationalize our storage offerings. You’ll work closely with supply chain, finance, engineering, and executive stakeholders to drive decisions that balance market competitiveness, customer needs, cost structures, and long-term profitability. Responsibilities
- Define Pricing Strategy : Develop and own the pricing models for storage products, balancing competitiveness, cost, and margin goals.
- Lead Volume Forecasting & Supply Chain Planning : Partner with supply chain and operations teams to drive data-informed volume projections and inventory planning.
- Build Business Cases : Create and maintain business case models for new product launches, bundles, or strategic changes — evaluating ROI, margin impact, and go-to-market fit.
- Last-Time Buy (LTB) Planning : Design and execute the methodology for last-time buys of EOL (end-of-life) components, ensuring financial and operational alignment.
- Evaluate and Launch Product Promotions : Partner with product and sales teams to propose and assess bundled and promotion offerings, including pricing structures and profitability analysis.
- Assess Market Competitiveness : Perform competitive analyses to ensure that our storage products meet client needs.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally : Work across teams including finance, supply chain, engineering, and executive leadership to align strategy and execution.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills and high proficiency in Excel / Sheets and financial modeling.Comfort with ambiguity and building processes from the ground up.Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.Experience with using AI based toolsBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.Education
