Overview

Associate Director Innovation Lab, AI role at Novartis México. The Associate Director sits within the US Innovation Lab (iLab), a part of the Marketing Technology Product Management team. The position reports to the Director Innovation Lab, AI Innovation and focuses on accelerating Marketing AI Use Cases in the US. With deep expertise in AI, large language models (LLM), and natural language processing (NLP), you will help execute the AI Innovation Strategy and lead experimentation of AI-driven solutions and services aligned to Integrated Marketing and IMUS objectives. This role emphasizes responsible AI product / program execution and manages the execution of use case experimentation including POCs and MVPs, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to plan and execute within the innovation stage gate model.

You will engage with leaders across the global organization to align plans, product roadmap, and approaches. The ideal candidate will have real-world AI / Gen AI experience and a track record in developing LLM solutions. Experience leading AI solutions in tech or a leading company is preferred. You will excel at engaging, collaborating with, and influencing internal partners across the organization to bring innovations to life, thriving in ambiguity with a passion for innovation to deliver business impact. This role sits in a heavily matrixed organization with a multi-disciplinary team across Marketing, Strategists, DDIT, UX, Insights & Analytics, and other groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of AI and generative AI projects within the Innovation Lab’s AI vertical
  • Translate AI concepts into impactful marketing solutions from idea to implementation
  • Manage delivery of proofs of concept and MVPs using large language models and NLP
  • Align product roadmaps with strategic objectives across marketing, sales, and innovation
  • Define and track KPIs to measure success and guide continuous improvement
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure timely and effective project execution
  • Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams to drive innovation and adoption

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Data Science
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in AI and innovation management, including work with large language models
  • At least 6 years in product management, marketing technology, strategy, or consulting
  • Proven success in leading AI product development from concept to scale
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Additional Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience (with a track record) in portfolio, program, and project management with multi-functional experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech industries preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead simultaneous programs with complex multidisciplinary teams, applying a pragmatic and agile approach
  • Advanced user skills in project management tools, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Agile mindset to adapt and implement new Ways-of-Working in a constantly changing environment; ability to learn fast, deliver fast, adapt and manage ambiguity
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills with ability to make professional impressions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically and communicate complex information simply
  • Financial acumen; experience working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams across locations
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal partners at all levels
  • Proactive solutioning and proficiency in PM methodologies and tools
