A Senior Purchasing Manager is needed to lead procurement of steel and critical raw materials, supervising a Junior Buyer and reporting directly to the General Management. This strategic role combines leadership, negotiation, and supplier development to ensure operational efficiency and internal control.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and optimize procurement of steel and other raw materials, ensuring quality, budget compliance, and supply continuity.
- Evaluate, select, and negotiate with national and international suppliers, fostering strategic relationships and continuous improvement.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the purchasing team, promoting high performance and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Work closely with operations to ensure timely supply and minimize sourcing risks.
- Implement and maintain internal controls, purchase order tracking, and inventory management.
- Analyze market trends and material costs to propose cost‐saving strategies.
- Conduct supplier visits and plant evaluations to identify new sourcing opportunities.
Requirements
Strong experience in raw material procurement, preferably steel, with proven negotiation and supplier development record.Knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier evaluation, and contract management.Bilingual (English‐Spanish), fluent for international negotiations.Leadership skills and experience managing and developing teams.Analytical skills to manage significant purchase volumes and multiple suppliers.Results‐oriented, problem‐solving, and strategic thinking.Availability for supplier visits and quality audits.Seniority level
