Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Manager to join our team in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the company's financial success.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee the budgeting process and provide regular financial forecasts and reports to senior management
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented work environment
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement
- Manage cash flow and treasury operations, optimizing working capital management
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and tax regulations, ensuring organizational compliance
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)CPA, CMA, or MBA (preferred)Minimum of 4 to 7 years in similar position, preferably in the hospitality industryIn-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standardsStrong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly ExcelExperience with hotel management systems (e.g., Opera) is a plusExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detailStrong leadership abilities with experience managing and developing accounting teamsOutstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in Spanish is highly desirableProven ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecastingKnowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements in MexicoAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholdersStrong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving financial goalsWhat is in it for you
