VALUE STREAM LEADER I
IMPACT & OPPORTUNITY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the end-to-end management of a product value stream, ensuring a seamless flow of materials, processes, and information from raw material input to final delivery.
This role acts as the primary liaison between cross-functional departments to achieve productivity, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Additionally, the supervisor plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and fostering team development within the value stream.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate group leaders to meet production schedules and value stream KPIs.
Collaborate with support departments to ensure cross-functional alignment on value stream objectives.
Maintain and update visual management systems to reflect performance vs. targets.
Own performance results of the assigned value stream, driving improvements where needed.
Promote and create conditions for continuous improvement (Lean mindset).
Ensure compliance with Internal Work Regulations and company policies.
Guarantee that manufacturing operations are conducted by properly trained personnel.
Enforce adherence to approved manufacturing procedures and standards.
Support the plant in achieving its strategic and operational goals.
Maintain alignment with counterpart supervisors across shifts to ensure consistent operations.
Approve evaluations, disciplinary actions, and time-off requests for direct reports.
Manage personnel requisitions to ensure proper staffing levels in the area.
Promote a professional and safe working environment.
Stop production when safety, quality, or compliance risks are identified.
Ensure equipment and tools are safe to operate; report unsafe conditions to Maintenance and block equipment until repaired.
Support the execution of the Manufacturing Engineering portion of the Production Control Plan (PCP).
Comply with Quality Management System requirements (IATF 16949) and Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001).
Understand and meet specific customer requirements with a focus on Zero Defects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the automotive industry.
Demonstrated experience in leading production teams and managing shop floor operations.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and quality systems.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred, especially for operations in Mexico or LATAM.
