As an AI-First Full Stack Engineer, you'll be building full-scale web and mobile applications that seamlessly integrate cutting-edge AWS AI services with robust full-stack solutions. We are seeking expertise in AWS Bedrock, document processing OCR, and AWS AI / ML services to build intelligent invoice processing systems. Your AI-powered development approach will create sophisticated document processing applications that leverage AWS machine learning capabilities to solve complex business problems at scale.

About you

You are a full-stack generalist who specializes in AI-powered document processing and AWS AI services . You've embraced AI-first development methodologies, using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate your development process while building production systems with AWS Bedrock, Textract, and related AI services . You're equally comfortable building React frontends, Node.js / Python backends, and complex AWS AI architectures for document processing workflows. You thrive using TDD methods, automated testing, and Agile methodologies while focusing on finding the simplest solutions to complex AI integration challenges.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years full-stack development experience with modern frameworks
  • Fluent English, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 9am-5pm EST availability with reliable workspace / internet
  • Heavy AWS AI / ML services experience, specifically with Bedrock and document processing
  • Full-stack generalist comfortable with React / Next.js and Node.js / Python
  • Agile methodologies experience, startup environment passion
  • Independent problem-solver, team player willing to work flexible hours when needed

Technical Requirements

Core Full-Stack Skills

  • React / Next.js for frontend development, Node.js or Python for backend
  • RESTful API design and integration, database design and management
  • Modern JavaScript / TypeScript, responsive web design, version control (Git)
  • CI / CD pipelines and GitHub Actions experience

    • AI & Cloud Expertise (REQUIRED)

    AWS Bedrock experience is required - you must have hands-on experience building applications with AWS Bedrock for document processing and AI integration.

    Document Processing & OCR expertise required including :

  • Production experience with invoice processing, document classification, or similar OCR workflows
  • AWS Textract integration and document parsing
  • Experience with agentic OCR parsing and validation systems

    • AWS AI / ML Services experience required including :

  • AWS Bedrock (foundation models, agents, knowledge bases)
  • AWS Textract for document OCR
  • AWS Comprehend for document classification
  • Integration patterns for AI services in production applications

    • Additional AWS Cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, etc.) for supporting AI workflows

    Security & Integration

  • Modern authentication mechanisms and secure API design

    • Bonus Qualifications

  • XSS protection implementation
  • CSRF protection for forms
  • Xero API integration experience
  • Unit testing frameworks for AI-integrated applications
  • Performance optimization for document processing workflows
  • Experience with additional AI / ML frameworks and services
  • Mobile development experience (React Native)
  • DevOps and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
  • Database optimization and scaling
  • Microservices architecture experience
  • Additional cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)

    • Project Deliverables

    You'll be working on building a comprehensive AI-powered invoice processing system where AWS Bedrock integration is the core technical foundation. Key deliverables include :

    Core Invoice Processing Pipeline (AI-Focused)

  • Web UI and email-based invoice upload with PDF validation
  • AWS Bedrock integration as the primary AI engine for OCR, document classification, and data extraction
  • Advanced invoice validation interface with AI-powered side-by-side comparison and intelligent correction suggestions
  • Comprehensive invoice listing with AI-driven filtering, sorting, and automated status indicators

    • AI Workflow & Integration Systems

  • Multi-approver workflow with AI-powered routing and role-based assignments
  • Xero accounting integration with secure API authentication and intelligent invoice synchronization
  • AI-enhanced status overview dashboard for real-time processing visibility with predictive insights
  • Automated workflow selection based on AWS Bedrock document classification and content analysis

    • Benefits / Compensation

  • Fully Remote, Contract-based with U.S. company
  • $3,500 / mo - $6,000 / mo depending on experience and project duration
  • Company-paid PTO plan, 9am-5pm EST, international team of 15+
