Key Responsibilities
1. Quantity Take-Offs & Estimating
- Accurately perform quantity take-offs from drawings, videos, photos, and vague client descriptions.
- Use reasoning and reference points (e.g., standard door sizes) to scale and estimate where exact dimensions are not provided.
- Conduct manual “counting” exercises (e.g., brick rows in a wall) and use logic to determine areas, lengths, or quantities.
- Document every assumption clearly—"show your work" for internal review.
2. Pricing & Vendor Outreach
Source material and labor pricing from :Internal databasesOnline supplier researchEmail / phone outreach to vendors or subcontractorsRequest and review detailed subcontractor quotes to validate assumptions and ensure complete scopes.Flag discrepancies and verify that all pricing is aligned with current market conditions.3. Proposal Support
Write clear and concise scope descriptions aligned with actual take-offs and pricing.Ensure written communication is professional, accurate, and client-ready.Adjust boilerplate or template language to reflect project-specific conditions or product selections.4. Collaboration & Communication
Coordinate with project managers and sales team members to request missing field data or scope clarifications.Assist with scope definition when no formal SOW is provided by the client.Communicate effectively in English (spoken and written) with U.S.-based teams.5. Post-Bid & Procurement Support (Occasional)
Assist in procurement after projects are won (sourcing vendors / placing orders).Support feedback loops by reviewing job performance data to improve future pricing.Requirements
2–5 years of experience in construction estimating (commercial or multifamily preferred)Familiarity with U.S. construction methods, units, and materialsStrong English communication skills (written and verbal)Proficiency with take-off tools like Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similarExcellent math and logic skills; confidence estimating from minimal dataHighly organized and capable of documenting assumptions clearlyMust have reliable internet and be available to work during Eastern Time (ET) hoursPreferred Skills
Experience writing professional client-facing proposalsKnowledge of U.S. building codes and terminologyFamiliarity with Smartsheet, Google Workspace, and Excel-based estimating tools
