You will work among engineering teams in this role to develop cutting-edge software solutions and help achieve that mission by giving our clients consultative guidance and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

Develop, build, test and maintain data architectures through use of various technologies.

Gather business requirements, working with architects, to move data from source to target systems.

Data acquisition – Work with IIOT team to pull IIOT field data from Azure services (event hub, IOT hub, MQTT, etc).

Develop guardrails for best practices of data usage.

Use programming language and tools to build datasets and combine data from different sources.

Work with data architecture to build, deploy and support APIs to access commonly used data.

Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.

Consultation with business to understand data needs and assist in designing data retrieval queries.

Qualifications

Technical Skills :

Understanding of Azure stack (IOT hub, Event hub, ADX, Stream), SQL, KQL, Databricks, Synapse, JSON, Python.

Advanced working SQL knowledge (or similar) & experience with relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

Experience building / optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets especially working with Time Series.

Experience performing RCA on internal / external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

Strong analytic skills working with unstructured datasets.

Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.

Manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.

Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, with a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.

Soft Skills :

Ability to navigate and comprehend mapping documents.

Experience with CI / CD pipelines, branching strategies, & GIT for code management.

Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) tool for work management.

Practitioner of Agile / SAFe practices.

Experience with Job Scheduling tools.
