This is an exciting opportunity to join the project team for the startup of a new manufacturing plant in Monterrey. The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Engineer will report to the Project Manager and has the primary responsibility of managing the electromechanical execution of this greenfield project.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage all aspects of electromechanical execution including MEP contract implementation, equipment installation, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with global and regional engineering teams to ensure technical packages meet scope, safety, and cost targets.
- Lead contractors and consultants across mechanical, electrical, piping, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, local regulations, and internal quality expectations.
- Oversee project documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
- Support permitting, community engagement, and cross-functional coordination with legal, EHS, and operations teams.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.10+ years of experience in construction and operations management, with proven success managing $10M+ capital projects.Strong knowledge of electromechanical design and construction standards, ideally in clean manufacturing environments (food / pharma).Experience managing contractors and engineering firms, with a focus on safety, cost, and schedule.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Gantt charts, Microsoft Project).Fluent in English; U.S. visa preferred.Familiarity with NFPA, NOM codes, and Monterrey / Guadalupe construction regulations.Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in chemical manufacturing.Exposure to LEED certification and PMI PMBOK methodology.Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.Knowledge of local labor laws and permitting processes.
