At AI INTELLIGENT ROBOTS, an innovative company in the robotics and artificial intelligence sector, we are looking for a talented and committed Lead Buyer to join our team. Who are we looking for?

A professional with a university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical training. Additional education in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Processes will be positively valued.

The Manufacturing Lead Buyer will be responsible for leading the procurement of all mechanical components and assemblies derived from internal design, ensuring technical accuracy, cost competitiveness, quality, and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert technical drawings and BOMs into detailed purchase requisitions (PR) and purchase orders (PO) according to project needs.
  • Manage daily communication with mechanical suppliers, ensuring timely confirmation of orders, manufacturing progress, and delivery confirmations.
  • Review and validate supplier quotations, ensuring technical compliance and alignment with 2D / 3D design documentation.
  • Coordinate with Engineering for design modifications or technical deviations, updating instructions and supplier documentation accordingly.
  • Oversee first article inspections (FAI) and ensure dimensional, surface, and material conformity before series deliveries.
  • Support incoming quality control processes, addressing non-conformities, and leading supplier corrective actions.
  • Maintain all supplier and order data in SAP R3 (MM) module, ensuring complete traceability of manufacturing purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with Finance for invoice validation, cost recording, and payment tracking.
  • Monitor and report project purchase milestones, highlighting potential risks, delays, or cost deviations.

Candidate Profile Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical procurement or industrial sourcing within automation, machinery, or automotive industries.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, welding, surface finishing, assembly).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (2D / 3D) and technical documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP R3 / MM-PUR) and analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
  • Fluent English (C1 or above), both written and spoken.
  • Availability to visit suppliers and manufacturing facilities, both nationally and internationally.
  • Preferred

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and supplier quality systems (PPAP, NCR, corrective actions).
  • Experience in international sourcing (Europe, Mexico, Asia).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
