Position Objective
The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all cost accounting and inventory–related activities for several companies within the group. The role ensures accurate financial information, reliable sales margins, and strong inventory controls that support effective decision-making and overall business profitability.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly sales reports to ensure proper margin performance.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly expense reports and validate correct accounting application.
- Prepare detailed cost, variance, and margin reports by product and division.
- Forecast and analyze process, labor, and inventory costs.
Inventory Management
Prepare, review, and analyze inventory valuation reports and their logistical impact.Review and analyze inventory reconciliations to ensure accurate logistical and accounting balances.Coordinate physical inventory counts and schedule / execute cycle counts.Investigate discrepancies in cycle counts and resolve issues promptly.Review raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods account reconciliations.Review and update obsolete inventory reserves.Cost Accounting
Calculate and review the Cost of Production statement.Review standard vs. actual costs to identify variances.Update standard costs in Bills of Materials (BOMs).Validate the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) as part of month-end closing.Accumulate and apply overhead costs according to GAAP requirements.Determine standard costs and investigate differences versus actual costs.Monitor process / method changes and evaluate cost impacts.Estimate costs for new and existing products.Analyze cost and inventory variances and communicate causes and trends.Propose improvements to enhance cost accuracy and strengthen inventory control.Ensure data integrity and collaborate closely with logistics, production, and finance teams.Requirements
