Overview
The Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) Supplier Industrialization and Automation Supervisor is responsible for the development, execution, and validation of supplier industrialization plans with the team of EDS Industrialization Engineers. The EDS Supplier Industrialization Supervisor is also responsible for collaborating with the EDS suppliers to drive successful execution of process and control methods for design improvements that optimize quality, cost, and weight impacts.
Responsibilities
- On site in FORD GTBC MÉXICO.
- Availability to travel both national and internationally with frequency is a must. Candidates must possess a valid U.S. visa and passport.
- Lead the Supplier Engagement Process (SEP) with the EDS Program Industrialization Supervisors, EDS D&R Engineers and suppliers to drive suppliers to launch with quality parts at the required capacity.
- Work closely with the EDS supply base, STA, and DREs to meet all EDS Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) metrics.
- Leverage the SEP process to drive suppliers to successfully complete all Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables.
- Audit EDS suppliers to confirm they comply with Robustness Engineering Disciplines (Quality history, P-Diagram, FMEA, etc.) and ensure compliance to requirements and specifications.
- Apply problem solving of Six Sigma, 3L5W, and 8D with the ability to audit and provide feedback in these processes to EDS suppliers.
- Support Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) and Supplier Readiness Reviews.
- Audit supplier component procurement process and assess manufacturing readiness.
- Support part implementation / Sign-off in supplier manufacturing and assembly plants to drive quality issue resolution in all milestones.
- Audit supplier PV testing plans and assessment.
- Generate harness manufacturing optimization proposals utilizing benchmarking.
- Support prototype and production build events for forward model programs at supplier manufacturing location.
- Support quality and manufacturing quality forums as required.
- Work with the Applications team to guarantee the supplier complies with all EDS GPDS deliverables for each milestone.
- Lead the development of EDS / wiring manufacturing automation projects for implementation with wiring Tier 1 / 2 suppliers.
- Submit invention disclosures, process improvements and best practices.
- Comply with training as outlined in calendar year objectives.
Qualifications
Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics desired).5-10 years of wiring harness design and industrialization experience.Strong English Proficiency (written, read, and oral).Proven leadership experience managing a multidisciplinary team in resolving complex problems.2-3 years of launch experience in Product DevelopmentHarness manufacturing knowledge and experience, preferred.Microsoft Office Usage (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).Understanding of Ford Global Product Development System (GPDS) or similar automotive product development system.Understanding of supplier SEP, APQP, and PPAP processes.Time and Project Management.Understanding of automotive systems.Knowledge and understanding of automation systems#J-18808-Ljbffr
