Overview

Design Release Engineer – Closures / Stamping Integration. Location : Toluca, Estado de México. Type : Full-time | Hybrid / On-site. Experience : 3–5 years (or equivalent experience in Stamping, Body Engineering, BIW, metalmechanical industry).

We are currently seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) – Closures to join our engineering team in Toluca , focused on the development and release of closure systems and related body components.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and release of closure systems and sheet metal components.
  • Collaborate with stamping die design, tooling, and BIW engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and dimensional accuracy.
  • Drive CAD surfacing, GD&T application, and tolerance stack-up analysis for closure assemblies.
  • Execute DFMEA, DVP&R , and engineering change management activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support prototype builds, stamping validation, and production launch events.
  • Ensure timely documentation and release of parts within NX and Teamcenter environments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering groups to address design and validation issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a DRE, Product Engineer, or Stamping Engineer.
  • Equivalent experience in Body-in-White (BIW) , Sheet Metal , or Tooling Engineering will be considered.
  • Proficiency in NX , Teamcenter , and GD&T standards.
  • Strong understanding of stamping processes , metal forming , and panel development .
  • Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, root cause analysis , and issue resolution.
  • Knowledge of OEM release systems and vehicle development processes (Stellantis preferred).
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • English proficiency : intermediate to advanced.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers (Stellantis, GM, Ford, etc.).
  • Familiarity with closure system validation, sealing, and fit & finish optimization .
  • Exposure to tooling tryout, dimensional control, and die optimization processes.
