Job Objective

Coordinating and actively managing one or more complex Operations projects as the core team member to ensure an excellent launch of new products. Leading cross functional, interdisciplinary teams (e.g. from Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Testing, Technical Services, Quality and other project related departments) to ensure the correct application and execution of the PEP and be accountable for the assigned projects. Ensure full transparency within assigned projects, proactively reporting to different management levels (e.g. Operations Manager, Plant Manager, Project Manager) with escalation regarding HELLA instructions if necessary. Conduct fully correct hand over of products in the series production.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Working within the project teams according to the HELLA PEP regulations as the Operations core team member and leading Operations project teams.
• Agreeing and following up targets with the Project manager in terms of quality, costs and timing in agreement with the superior and taking existing processes and methods into consideration. Providing timely project decisions and identifying critical paths to establish prioritized actions.
• Ensuring that the project targets are being achieved or overachieved, focusing on the most relevant deliverables (e.g. Functional Safety requirements).
• Knowing HELLA standards, processes, methods and tools in project management and applying them through the project lifetime.
• Defining, planning, coordinating and monitoring project maturity, internal tasks / work packages within the production team using predefined methods and HELLA standards.
• Actively identifying claims potential from engineering changes and maintaining a valid status on engineering changes with regards to their effects on project targets.
• Understanding product specifications and manufacturing processes to support decision-making and reflect effects on other departments (Operations, Purchasing) within HELLA. Evaluating economic and production engineering consequences of necessary changes.
• Defining extended production team members and moderating the production team including conflict resolution with functional departments.
• Coordinating bidding processes and supporting / realizing make-or-buy decisions.
• Monitoring implementation of SIPCo actions (manufacturing costs : iPC vs. ACT) and ensuring global standards are accomplished.
• Participating in the selection of production processes with development team and process experts, steering and executing development of production methods considering market development.
• Guiding development regarding production-related options and improvements at new developments / modifications for optimum cost and quality.
• Steering selection of appropriate production processes with_process experts and development team, suggesting best processes for the product.
• Ensuring planning of production flows, layouts and equipment by the manufacturing engineer with regard to capacity, cost, quality and due dates; drawing up specification requirements.
• Procurement of production equipment (quotation evaluation, supplier discussions, ordering, progress control during construction).
• Ensuring P-FMEA creation and proper risk assessment, securing sustainable improvements.
• Pre-acceptance, setup of production equipment and final acceptance according to defined requirements.
• Preparing Run @ Rate, obtaining assessment and all needed documentation for process approval; responsibility for organizing / qualifying the start of production.
• Involvement in internal and external project-related audits and maintaining production and quality documentation and master data; ensuring training for relevant employees.
