As an Automation Engineer at Molex El Salto, you will play a vital role in collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external partners to install, maintain, and optimize automated manufacturing systems. Your expertise will ensure high equipment performance, process reliability, and product quality, while driving continuous improvements through troubleshooting, training, and data‑driven analysis.

Our Team

You will join the OSBU division, a dynamic team focused on delivering innovative automation solutions in a fast‑paced electronic manufacturing environment. The team works closely with business units and customers to support operational excellence and advance production capabilities.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the integration, installation, and acceptance testing of automation equipment in production lines, ensuring seamless deployment and operation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support and enhance existing and emerging automation systems, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Analyze machine performance and product quality using statistical tools, providing actionable insights to manufacturing teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement preventive procedures to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including manuals, standard operating procedures, and workflows for automation systems.
  • Deliver training and mentorship to technicians and operators, empowering them to operate and maintain equipment effectively.
  • Drive quality improvements related to automation equipment and processes by proactively addressing issues.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize machine performance and support process enhancements across the manufacturing floor.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electronics, Mechatronics, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong proven experience supporting automation equipment in a production environment.
  • Proficient in technical English for communication with suppliers and understanding technical documentation.
  • Skilled in automation systems and components such as motion control, vision systems, servo and stepper motors.
  • Experience with equipment setup, acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and support within electronics or fiber optics manufacturing.
  • What Will Put You Ahead

  • Hands‑on experience with Cognex Vision and Delta Tau motion programming.
  • Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement training.
  • Strong background in automation deployment and equipment control panel wiring.
  • Familiarity with communication bus standards like RS232, Ethernet, and Fiber Channel.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
