Junior Weight Management BOM Analyst - Automotive (Remote)

Your role

As a Weight Management BOM Analyst, you will lead bill of materials validation to improve the fidelity of weight status roll-ups for automotive vehicle programs. You will generate weight BOMs and conduct thorough analyses to identify issues impacting weight accounting integrity, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate weight tracking throughout the vehicle development process. In this role you will play a key role in :

  • BOM Analysis & Weight Tracking : Download and analyze BOMs from corporate systems to maintain accurate weight tracking. Identify discrepancies and issues affecting weight accounting integrity. Generate regular weight status reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Coordinate with design teams to review parts and weights, confirming content and status. Work with Weight Team Leads to provide regular weight status updates to extended teams. Build consensus across engineering disciplines to resolve weight-related challenges
  • Weight Reduction Initiatives : Support Weight Leads in developing and tracking weight reduction opportunities. Analyze potential weight savings and help prioritize implementation efforts. Document and monitor progress of weight optimization initiatives.
  • Physical Validation & Testing : Coordinate component weighing activities at suppliers and assembly plants. Assist with validation of prototype vehicle weights compared to virtual BOM roll-ups. Reconcile differences between physical measurements and digital predictions.

Your profile

  • Good conversational English skills (B2, C1, C2)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university, with understanding of automotive product development processes.
  • 0-1 year of relevant automotive product development experience with knowledge of the overall program development lifecycle.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis with the ability to formulate meaningful observations, conclusions, and recommendations from complex datasets.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with experience in BOM management systems and weight tracking tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, build strong working relationships across functions, and gain consensus on technical matters while working with limited supervision.
