Cashera Capital is a financial services firm specializing in alternative lending, including loans, merchant cash advances (MCA), and payday loans. We are expanding our presence in Mexico City and seeking an experienced Collection Manager to lead our collections team and drive recovery performance while maintaining professionalism and compliance.
Position Overview
The Collection Specialist will be responsible for managing overdue accounts, engaging with clients to negotiate repayment solutions, and supporting the Collections Manager in reducing default rates. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive conversations with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of overdue accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Contact clients via phone, email, and digital channels to discuss missed payments and agree on repayment arrangements.
- Negotiate payment solutions that balance customer needs with company objectives.
- Conduct skip tracing and use investigative tools to locate hard-to-reach clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and agreements in the CRM system.
- Escalate problematic accounts to the Collections Manager for further enforcement actions (e.g., legal, UCC filings).
- Work closely with the underwriting and risk teams to flag potential fraud or high-risk accounts.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies and relevant financial regulations.
- Contribute ideas to improve recovery strategies and optimize collection processes.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in collections, credit control, or debt recovery, ideally in fintech, financial services, or MCA (Merchant Cash Advance).Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations.Experience with skip tracing, repayment negotiations, and portfolio management is highly desirable.Familiarity with financial regulations and debt collection compliance standards (FCA guidelines in the UK preferred).Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.High attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (Salesforce experience is a plus).Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a strong plus given our international operations.What We Offer
