This role provides leadership to drive all aspects of continuous improvement in the plant working with the Plant Managers and plant team to implement a high-performance culture, based on APS Lean principles and a strong cost-reduction focus (MOVE).
The person in this role is responsible for applying internal APS assessments, APS and MOVE training, workshops and Kaizen events for all plant levels, aiming best practices and APS tools sharing and implementation.
In addition, the APS Manager supports the Plant Manager to create, track and implement a mid-, long-term strategic plan in conjunction with operations plant leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
APS (Lean Principles)
Responsible for developing plant management and plant teams on Lean mindset in alignment with APS.
Responsible for creating and implementing a Roadmap for Lean tools implementation, based on latest assessment scores and plant's short, mid, and long-term goals, in close contact with Plant Manager and the plant team.
Responsible for horizontal management of plant department leaders, following their APS application plans and functional performance in conjunction with plant Manager.
Responsible for applying and / or facilitating training and workshops to drive continuous improvement and cultural changes in all levels from operators to senior management.
Develop teams on problem solving.
High focus on standard work to sustain every improvement and to drive discipline.
Master flow optimization, applying value stream mapping, future state planning, process improvements and layout optimization implementation.
Conducts monthly CI / APS status reports within the organization at the region and corporate level.
MOVE and Operational Excellence
Responsible for leading cost reduction activities in the plant (MOVE)
Responsible for implementing a MOVE tracking system on Plant, tracking actual vs. budget and reacting in case of deviations to target.
Facilitate Workshops for MOVE idea generation to fill pipeline according to target, with participation of all departments.
Responsible to collect and share Autoneum's best practices (Group Initiatives) with plant teams.
Support top MOVE projects implementation to ensure scope and time deliveries as planned.
Perform and facilitate visits to benchmark plants according to plant needs.
Ensure compliance with all related IATF-16949, ISO 45001 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures
