Private Destinations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Site Construction reporting to the Director, Construction.
This position will be working onsite from Cozumel / Mahahual.
Overview
Position Summary : Seeking a solid Construction Project Manager to join our team.
This position will report to the Director or Sr Manager of Construction and will oversee assigned land-based projects.
This person will oversee the entire construction phases for the assigned land-based project.
Responsibilities
Negotiate and / or support the process of negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
Maintain and regularly produce reports utilizing Project Management Software and Microsoft Office programs.
Establish, update, and communicate the Master Project Schedule and manage its implementation.
Hold external vendors / contractors responsible for delays and cost overruns from the project schedule.
Provide support in contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders negotiations.
Attend scheduled weekly progress meetings and other internal project / program meetings, and track progress and risks as necessary.
Promote RCI's involvement in the community to help build strategic relationships and to embrace local communities.
Foster and enhance architect, contractor, subcontractor, and vendor relations.
Lead and manage activities related to design, pre-construction, construction, and closeout.
Manage budget and financial reporting, interpret and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project budget.
Manage the QA / QC program.
Lead efforts to analyze risk and define schedule-related issues, including long lead materials or equipment that may impact project schedule and forecast variance.
Serve as the primary contact for project status.
Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee, and pricing decisions.
Lead change management processes, update logs, route source documents to vendors, obtain pricing, develop estimates and proposals.
Participate in the design and execution of destinations within the Product Development-Private Destinations team.
Support a clear short and long-term roadmap and effectively project manage complex timelines and deliverables.
Work closely with key stakeholders to adapt and evolve the strategy for delivering a flawless product at private destinations.
Lead product development for global regions Private Destinations, collaborating on concept development and execution to maximize innovation and authenticity.
Ensure product specifications enable a desirable and viable product for future guests.
Prepare presentations showing construction milestones for senior management recommendations.
Performs other duties as required within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
7-10 years of experience leading construction projects as a commercial Project Manager.
Experience with commercial projects (retail, restaurant, hospitality).
Demonstrate a high standard of persona, accountability and integrity.
Mentor staff to high standards.
Bachelor's degree required; construction management, engineering, architecture or similar (preferred).
Knowledge And Skills
Knowledge of building materials, detailing, construction techniques, building systems selection, related engineering principles, sustainability strategies and building codes.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
Ability to analyze drawings (structural, architectural, MEP and civil).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Accurate attention to detail and highly organized.
Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.
Solid understanding of the construction industry.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with experience in mission-critical projects, engineering, controls, and operational requirements; emphasis on project / construction management.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel), Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar PM software.
Experience working independently and in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Strong prioritization and execution in high-pressure environments.
Data-driven approach.
PMP preferred.
