The successful candidate will be responsible for designing secure, scalable, and efficient data systems that enable seamless data flow and accessibility, aligning with the organisation’s strategic goals. This role involves creating and maintaining a robust data architecture that supports our Data Strategy and enforces data governance policies, ensuring the organisation’s data assets are well-managed, secure, and ready to drive business value.

Your role and responsibilities

We have a fantastic opportunity to work for us as Global Data Architect as part of our Global Data function. The role will be based in our Mexico Home Credit business. The Global Data Architect at IPF will be instrumental in designing and implementing a modern, secure, and scalable data architecture that aligns with the organisation’s vision to become truly data-led. By collaborating with global and regional teams, this role ensures that data flows seamlessly across systems, enabling better decision-making and operational efficiency. The architect will design solutions that optimise data storage, processing, and accessibility while ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and regulatory standards.

A key responsibility of the Global Data Architect is to lead the technical design and strategy for the organisation’s data platforms, including guiding the migration to the cloud. They will establish robust frameworks for data modelling, integration, and performance optimisation, ensuring systems can handle current and future demands. This includes close collaboration with the Data Engineering and Governance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to data management.

As a strategic leader, the Global Data Architect will also focus on future-proofing IPF’s data ecosystem. By staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, they will identify opportunities to innovate and drive value from data. This role is critical to ensuring that IPF’s data infrastructure not only supports the business today but also positions it for sustainable growth in the future.

What are we looking for?

Here’s what experience we need from you :

  • Extensive Expertise in Data Architecture : Significant experience in designing, implementing, and optimising data architectures within large, complex organisations. Deep understanding of database systems, data modelling, and ETL processes, plus expertise in cloud-based data solutions, particularly Snowflake. Demonstrated ability to build scalable, secure, and efficient data infrastructures that align with business needs.
  • Understanding of Medallion Architecture : Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture principles and experience designing data pipelines that support bronze, silver, and gold layers, with best practices for data quality, lineage, and accessibility.
  • Strategic Alignment and Governance Support : Ability to align data architecture with organisational objectives, ensure governance compliance, and collaborate with governance, engineering, and BI teams to maximise accessibility and performance.
  • Strong Problem-Solving and Innovation Skills : Proven track record of resolving complex data challenges and creating innovative, sustainable solutions.
  • Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Engagement : Able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and influence decision-making at all levels.
  • Desirable Qualifications and Certifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; certifications in data architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure). Experience in global or multi-market organisations is desirable.
