About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic finance team.
A core responsibility of this position is to ensure strict compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) in all accounts payable processes.The specialist will be accountable for accurate vendor billing, coding, and payment processing across multiple U.S.-based entities and locations.
This role plays a vital part in safeguarding financial integrity by adhering to U.S. GAAP standards, internal controls, and audit requirements, while also supporting AP automation initiatives to improve efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and manage the Accounts Payable inbox to promptly process vendor invoices, statements, and inquiries.Ensure accurate and timely data entry and coding in compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal company policies.Review vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with vendors to maintain compliance and accuracy.Prepare and submit invoices for approval and payment, ensuring proper GAAP-aligned documentation and audit trail.Maintain organized, audit-ready AP records to support internal controls, compliance, and external audits.Support month-end and year-end close activities, including GAAP-based accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.Collaborate with procurement, accounting, and cross-functional teams to resolve payment issues within a GAAP framework.Contribute to ongoing improvements in AP automation and ERP system integration, ensuring controls remain GAAP-compliant.QualificationsEducation : Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent (required); Master's degree preferred.Experience : 2-4+ years of accounts payable experience in a U.S.-based company with demonstrated adherence to U.S. GAAP standards.Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP compliance and proven experience supporting month-end close activities (accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis).
Hands-on experience with AP automation tools or similar) and ERP systems; Sage Intacct strongly preferred.Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Chat, Sheets).
