Network Engineer
Description
Network Engineer functions in three main areas, Operations, Planning, and Management.
Operations:
- Actively monitoring the network and responding to alerts and verifying notifications sent by network monitoring and management systems.
- Acting as first line of support for network incidents, perform initial troubleshooting and triage before categorizing and escalating incident tickets. Maintaining incident management and documentation throughout the incident’s lifecycle.
Planning:
- Coordinating and communicating maintenance windows. Working with local site IT leaders and Network administrators to provide maintenance windows and describe maintenance impact according to thorough impact analysis.
- Keep track of license, maintenance, and support contracts and their expiry dates. Escalating to management when expiration dates are near.
Management:
- Documenting Infrastructure changes (Move, Add, Change, and Delete – MACD) for infrastructure devices and Network Tools.
- Maintaining Asset management system and database for Infrastructure equipment and tools.
- Updating and maintaining Network Management tools, Network Monitoring tools, Network analysis tools, authentication servers etc.
- Updating and maintaining Network equipment firmware versions.
- Performing periodic security and network audits and present results reports.
Follow-up security measures according to the area, activity and organizational structure.
All employees responsible for each operation is carried out attached to legal requirements, environmental policy and environmental procedures that apply in your area.
Provide resources when required by the EMS.
Position Requirements
- 4 or more years of network experience, including routing, switching, and support of multiple applications.
- Experience with Routers, Switches, and Wireless.
- Understanding Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, L2/L3 LAN technologies, Wireless, .
- Experience with network management, monitoring, and alerting tools (IP Switch What’s up gold preferred).
- Good handling and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Visio, Excel, and Word).
- Advanced English skills.
- Travel availability.
Education Requirement Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Technical certificates such as CCNA or equivalent is required (CCNP level is preferred). Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift -not applicable- Location Inteva Products, LLC - IMTC Mexico Req Number INF-25-00006
