Wiring Harness Design Engineer

Senior / Lead Design Engineer – Electrical & Interior Systems Location : Hybrid (Toluca, Mexico) Transportation support provided from Mexico City We are looking for a highly skilled Senior / Lead Design Engineer to join our Design Service Units (DSU) team.

This position plays a critical role in advanced design, compliance, integration, and oversight , ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet global automotive standards.

Key Responsibilities Lead interior, electrical, and wiring harness / schematic design activities with minimal supervision.

Validate electrical loads, routing feasibility, and compliance with automotive standards.

Run structural performance evaluations using Altair's SimSolid.

Review and validate junior engineering outputs for accuracy and compliance .

Provide technical input during design reviews to ensure first-pass quality.

Coordinate with suppliers on manufacturability and cost optimization .

Participate in PDTs with Design Leaders (DLT), Design Release Engineers (DRE), and Vehicle Compartment Integration Team (CIT) reviews .

Oversee allocation and prioritization of Jr. and Sr.

Design Service Units hours.

Manage workload distribution, escalation, and issue resolution .

Ensure alignment with project KPIs and SLAs Conduct quality audits and approve final documentation packages.

Qualifications 5 years of applied automotive product design experience .

Advanced Siemens NX user, including electrical routing validation.

Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Design for Six Sigma preferred).

Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).

Knowledge of CAE principles ; familiarity with Altair SimSolid is an advantage.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Design (preferred).

Additional certifications in Design for Assembly, Serviceability, and Vehicle Systems Integration are a plus.
