The Workday Financials Architect will play a strategic role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Workday Financials solutions across the organization. This position requires deep functional and technical expertise in the Workday Financials suite, the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable configurations, and strong leadership to guide cross-functional teams through all phases of deployment and enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of Workday Financials modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Assets, Banking, Expenses, and Procurement.
Partner with finance, accounting, and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into efficient Workday solutions.
Develop and maintain architectural standards, design documentation, and solution roadmaps for Workday Financials.
Lead system integrations with third-party applications and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across platforms.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Workday Financials configuration, reporting, and business process design.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Workday analysts, consultants, and project team members.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and data privacy requirements in all Workday configurations.
Drive system optimization initiatives and support ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and new feature adoption.
Collaborate with technical teams on integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, REST APIs).
Partner with stakeholders to develop and deliver advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics in Workday.
Required Skills & Qualifications
~ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
~8+ years of experience with ERP or HCM systems, including 5+ years hands-on experience with Workday Financials.
~ Proven experience leading Workday Financials implementations or large-scale optimization projects.
~ Strong understanding of core financial processes (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Banking, Procurement, and Expenses).
~ Experience designing and supporting integrations between Workday and external financial systems.
~ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
~ Workday Financials certification(s) highly preferred.
~ Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
